Philosophy
Our Lower School provides all learners with a safe, nurturing and inclusive space within which they can discover new concepts and content, critically analyse information and explore the transdisciplinary connections between diverse subject areas.
We encourage invention and creativity as our students adapt their knowledge to new findings and source out practical connections between their learning and everyday life. We place great emphasis on student voice and individual accountability in setting goals and achieving success. Our teams of experienced teachers, learning support specialists and assist students in their varying needs, using adaptive teaching methods to create bespoke learning pathways.
We work together to alleviate the uncertainties that come with moving to a new school or country. We partner with parents to ensure all students grow in confidence and responsibility, whilst developing a caring and tolerant attitude towards everyone in the community. International-mindedness is an underlying ethos of the IB PYP, and at ACS, we see our diversity as one of our core strengths. We are a community of over 70 different nationalities and we are passionate about cultural exchange. We encourage our students to explore and appreciate their own mother tongues, culture and identity.
Our students leave Lower School as confident and respectful individuals, aware of their strengths and abilities, and ready for the challenges of Middle School.
