For parents and families

How we keep every student at ACS Doha safe

Our Safeguarding Handbook sets out what every adult at ACS Doha does to protect students, how we respond when there's a concern, and who to talk to if you're worried about a child.

We share it openly because every member of our school community shares responsibility for keeping students safe. It's aligned with Qatar Ministry of Education requirements, Artemis Education's safeguarding standards and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

What's inside

Six things the handbook covers

It's written for our staff, so it's practical and detailed. Here's what you'll find in it.

1

Who's responsible

Every adult on campus has a duty to keep students safe. The handbook explains what's expected of staff, our safeguarding team, school leaders and parents.

2

Recognizing harm

The signs of physical, emotional and sexual abuse and neglect that our staff are trained to notice, so concerns are picked up early.

3

Peer-on-peer and online safety

How we handle bullying and cyberbullying, plus newer risks like image sharing, sextortion and AI-manipulated images.

4

Reporting concerns

Our "if in doubt, report" approach, and exactly what staff do (and don't do) when a student tells them something.

5

Wellbeing and inclusion

How we support students' mental health, and the extra care we give students with additional needs or who are new to Qatar.

6

Safer staff, safer campus

Background checks and annual training for every adult, visitor sign-in, safety drills, and safeguards on trips and at pickup.

Raising a concern

Worried about a child?

If a child is in immediate danger, make sure they're safe and contact our safeguarding team straight away. Call 999 if emergency services are needed.
  1. Talk to usContact our safeguarding team directly, or speak to any trusted adult at school and they'll pass it on straight away.
  2. Tell us what you've seen or heardStick to the facts and leave any investigating to us. Our rule is simple: if in doubt, report.
  3. We take it from thereOur team follows a set process, keeps records confidential and puts the student's welfare first in every decision.

This includes concerns about a member of staff or a volunteer, even if the behavior seems minor. Small things reported early help us spot patterns and act before they grow.
